Marina is older stock than most of the areas we work in, and that changes the job. A lot of what we do here is not a first fit — it is replacing curtains that have been up for five or ten years and have not aged well.
Sun-bleached fabric is the Marina problem
West-facing Marina units take direct afternoon sun off the water for hours. Reflected light off the sea is harsher than direct light, and it fades fabric far faster than people expect — which is why so many Marina curtains have one edge several shades lighter than the rest.
If you are replacing, the fabric choice matters more here than almost anywhere in Dubai. We guarantee colour-fastness against UV for 2 years, and on west-facing windows we will steer you toward fabrics that hold up rather than the one that looks best in the sample book.
You may not need new curtains at all
Two things worth knowing before you spend:
- If the fabric is fine but the track is dragging — we can replace the track and re-hang your existing panels. Far cheaper than starting again.
- If you want motorisation — in most cases we replace the track and re-head your existing curtains. You do not have to throw away good fabric to get motors.
We will tell you when the cheaper option is the right one. Recommending less is not a sales tactic here, it is how we would want to be treated.
Tall windows, high floors
Marina towers are among the tallest residential buildings in the city and many units have double-height or very long drops. Long drops need a heavier track and correct weighting at the hem, otherwise the curtain swings and never hangs straight. We survey the drop properly at measurement rather than estimating from the floor.
