Embroidered Sheer Curtains
One written price per finished window, after we’ve measured — fabric, lining, track, fixings, fitting and warranty all inside it. Nothing added later.
Embroidered sheer is the only one of the four where the pattern is the point. A plain sheer ground with a design stitched into it — geometric, botanical, or a border running from the hem. Everything below follows from one fact: you are buying decoration, and the light control is incidental.
What the stitching actually does to light
Thread is opaque. Where the embroidery is dense the light stops; where the ground shows between motifs the weave is usually quite open. So it does not filter evenly — it filters in a pattern, and that pattern lands on your floor as a moving shadow through the day. In a formal room that is exactly what you are paying for. If you want a calm, even wash of daylight, one of our other sheers will serve you better.
The same applies to privacy: do not buy embroidery expecting it to hide anything. The open ground between the motifs is what you see through, and after dark it gives away the room entirely, like every sheer. If evening privacy is on your list, the second layer does that job — see blackout — on a track specified for two layers from the beginning.
Where it works, and where it fights the room
It works in rooms meant to feel formal and furnished: a majlis, a villa reception or formal dining room, a bedroom in a classical scheme — anywhere the interior already has ornament for the fabric to answer to.
It fights a modern apartment. New Dubai towers are handed over plain — flat ceilings, square reveals, no cornice. Ornate stitching against that reads as an add-on, and the plainer the shell, the more the pattern looks like it arrived from a different house. If you are furnishing a new handover, be honest about which of those two rooms you have.
Sun damage shows unevenly on a pattern
This is the real long-term argument. On a plain sheer, fading is roughly uniform, and where it is not — folds facing the glass losing more than the shaded backs — there is nothing to compare it against. On an embroidered sheer there is. Thread and ground are usually different fibres taking dye differently, so they fade at different rates, and a motif that began as a crisp contrast can end up softer than the one beside it that sat behind a fold.
Two things slow it: a mid-tone thread rather than a saturated one, and a second layer taking the ultraviolet first in a west-facing room. The fade detail is in choosing curtain fabric for a Dubai home.
Embroidery adds weight, and the track carries it
Thread on a floor-to-ceiling panel adds up to real mass — a heavily embroidered sheer can weigh several times what the plain ground weighs. That load goes into the track, the brackets, and whatever the brackets are fixed into, and in most Dubai towers the reveal is drywall rather than concrete. With the wrong anchor a loaded track sags within months, and a sagging track shows first in exactly the fabric you chose for its pattern. So we check the substrate at the measurement. On a wave heading, where every carrier works, bracket spacing matters more still.
How we work
A supervisor visits free, bringing the fabric books so you see the pattern at full scale against your own glass, not as a thumbnail. Every window measured twice. One written price per finished window within 24 hours, nothing added later, fitted on the date in your contract rather than a range, with a one-year mechanical and labour warranty. Questions we get asked
Is an embroidered sheer more private than a plain one?
No. The open ground between the motifs decides that, and it is usually quite open. Choose embroidery for how it looks, not what it hides.
Will the pattern fade unevenly?
It can, because thread and ground take dye differently. A mid-tone thread and a second layer taking the sun first are what slow it down.
Does it need a stronger track?
It needs the right fixings for your wall, which we check at the measurement. Embroidery is heavier than it looks, and drywall with the wrong anchor is what fails.
