Eyelet curtains in Dubai, made to measure
Eyelet — ring-top — is the simplest heading there is. Metal rings are punched through the top of the fabric at even spacing, and the pole threads straight through them. No hooks, no heading tape gathering the fabric. The curtain falls in a soft, even wave between the rings.
Why people choose it
It is the easiest heading to use. The rings glide on the pole with almost no friction, so a child can open a heavy curtain one-handed.
It is also the easiest to take down. Slide the pole out and the curtain comes off in one piece; wash it, thread it back. That matters here, because people move often in Dubai. An eyelet curtain goes into a box and comes out in the next apartment without a fitter.
And the look is clean and modern, with no gathered fussiness at the top.
The limits, said plainly
Eyelet needs a pole. The rings thread onto something round, so a flat track will not take them — and that rules out ceiling mounting. Wave and pinch pleat can both be fixed to the ceiling slab. Eyelet cannot.
On a floor-to-ceiling window in a new tower that is usually the wrong call. Those windows want a curtain running from the slab to the floor, and a pole sits below the ceiling by definition, so you lose height and get the gap described next. In a tower we will steer you to wave. We would rather lose the sale than fit the wrong heading.
The gap at the top
This is the complaint we hear most, and almost nobody mentions it before installation.
The fabric hangs from rings that sit around the pole, so the top of the curtain starts below the pole rather than above it. Light comes over the top and through the space between pole and wall. It is inherent to the heading, not a fault, and no adjustment removes it.
In a living room that is irrelevant. In a Dubai bedroom, where the sun is up before 5:30 for much of the year, it is the difference between sleeping to your alarm and waking at first light. If it is a room you sleep in, either accept the gap or choose a heading that can be ceiling-fixed with a proper blackout layer. We will tell you which at the measurement.
Fabric weight
Eyelet needs body. There is no tape and no stitched pleat holding the shape, so the fold between each ring is formed by the weight of the cloth alone. A medium or heavy fabric falls into a deep, regular wave.
Light fabric does not. A fine sheer eyelets badly — the folds go shallow and irregular, and the eyelets end up the heaviest thing on the curtain. If you want sheer at that window, use another heading.
Ring size and pole diameter
These two have to be matched, and it is the detail most often skipped.
An eyelet too tight for the pole drags, so the curtain has to be hauled rather than glided. Too loose and the rings tip and jam as they travel. We size the eyelet to the pole and check the travel across the full width before we leave.
Where eyelet is the right answer
Children's rooms, studies, guest rooms, and any standard-height window with wall above it. Rentals especially — eyelet is the one heading a tenant can take down, wash and rehang without calling anyone.
It also suits homes where curtains get washed often: nothing to unhook, and no heading tape to distort in the machine.
Layering with sheers
Honestly, eyelet is awkward to layer. Two poles at two depths need enough wall projection to clear each other, and most apartments here do not have it.
So we do one of two things. Either the sheer goes on a slim track behind the pole, fixed separately, which works where the reveal is deep enough. Or we suggest a different heading for that window — layering is the thing eyelet does worst.
How we work
A supervisor visits your home free, for about 45 minutes, with the fabric books. Every window measured twice, and for eyelet we check the wall above the window too, because the pole has to fix into something solid. You receive one written price per finished window within 24 hours — fabric, lining, eyelets, pole, brackets, correct fixings, delivery, installation and hand-dressing, all inside that one number, nothing added later. Fitted on the date written into your contract, not a range, with a one-year mechanical and labour warranty.
The process is set out in how it works, and the full range is in our curtains collection. We measure and fit across all seven emirates.

Eyelet — questions people ask first
Can I have eyelet curtains on a track?
No. The rings need a pole to thread onto. If the window has to be ceiling-fixed, or you want the curtain running from the slab to the floor, eyelet is not the heading and wave is.
Will eyelet curtains black out a bedroom?
The fabric will. The heading will not. Even in full blackout cloth you get light over the top of the pole, so for a bedroom we normally recommend a ceiling-fixed heading instead.
How many eyelets should a curtain have?
Enough that the folds stay even and deep across the width, and always an even number, so the curtain finishes facing the wall at both ends. We work it out from your measured width.
Can I wash eyelet curtains myself?
That is one of the reasons to choose them. Slide the pole out, wash to the fabric's instructions, thread it back. Check the care label first — some linings should not go in a machine, and we tell you which at handover.
